This is in fact something that should be avoided, according to the authors of one of my favourite cookbooks “Chocolate Bar”. They preach that baking should be kept simple:

“Avoid the seduction of recipe porn which will tempt you with a litany of exotic ingredients and gorgeous, glossy perfect (and often impossible to replicate in real life) photos … like you, we have jobs and family and friends and appointments and we don’t have the time or stamina to re-create these works of art.”
My words exactly! I’m not sure that Eva, the creative cake extraordinaire, will agree with me on this, but as long as it’s brown and tastes of chocolate I’m happy :)
