I’m a big fan of sleep masks, I have a whole collection of them. But non of them is as cool as these… I think I need to buy a few more.

They are all from, and handmade… can it be any better? I really love those freaky ones with scary eyes on, and the view-master as well. The classic B-person “fuck off” mask now with lazes, a cartoony one with X’s on, dark blue with ribbons… and the one I’ve looked for for years, the Holly Golightly” -mask!!!

A bit more of izzard, now in LEGO…

Picture 2

Too Late is printed on the side of it. I know that. Just show me what time it is, OK?

It’s time for some Izzard!!!

Another favorite of mine, the awesome Eddie Izzard! Brilliant comedian, stand-up and actor. I Just truly love his sense of humor and timing…. I find myself laughing myself silly every time I put on one of his shows. And he’s even great when he’s serious. Do yourself a favor and see the TV show “The Riches”, it has Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver in it, and it’s great. But you can not miss his stand up shows, especially “glorious”

Don’t forget to look up!

Someone put these amazing alien dudes in the window ledge of an apartment that I walked by in Greene Street, New York. Thank you for making me smile :)

Dead Dad, Ludo and all of that other fun…

June 23, 2009

Sculptor Ron Mueck is one of my favorite artists. Ever since I saw some of his work for the first time in London, at the old Saatchi Gallery, I’ve been in love. His “Dead Dad” is just so much more than amazing, even awsome (the original way, not the hotdog way). His way of playing with proportions is just so fascinating, everything suddenly seems out of scale when you are near one of his pieces. They are so detailed and naturalistic that it’s almost impossible to grasp that it’s not real. Later on I found out that he started out as a model maker and had helped out in making one of my favorite childhood films “Labyrinth” with David Bowie, he even contributed with the voice of “Ludo”… that made me love him even more!!

Art attack

June 22, 2009

I love the Damien Hirst’ shark in formaldehyde replicated in LEGO! When I saw the actual shark at the Saatchi Gallery in London about 5 years ago I experienced a panic attack and started crying with fear because I’m so scared of sharks. The guards had to bring me water and calm me down, and people around me were like – wow, amazing art. No, it’s a f***ing shark and I hate them! This LEGO version is ok, though. It’s by the British artists John Cake and Darren Neave aka The Little Artists who amongst many other things replicate iconic contemporary art in LEGO.

The iconic Tracey Emin bed is also great :)

Ignore the half-naked guy dancing with apples

I know that it can be hard not to get focused on his actions, cause it’s just plain weird. Just look at hot Devendra and listen to this amazing take on a classic. Summertime is just one of my absolute favorites, especially in this hippie-realaxed version. I can’t find it anywhere else than youtube, so if you know where to get it in mp3, don’t be a stranger… cause I crave to have it on my Itunes.

Next stop: Fido Dido t-shirt?

I find myself caught somewhere in the beginning of the nineties at the moment. The proof: I bought these gloves a few weeks ago at Ryesgade Cykler without even thinking twice. Oh, why didn’t I bring them to NYC – they would have been perfect at the bike lane of the Hudson River Park!

Don’t forget the words of Scooter: it’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be niiiiiiiiiiice (pronounced with a heavy German accent!)
