One of the reasons youtube is what it is!!

July 30, 2009

Homemade cover numbers, one person, a guitar and a webcam… there is something amazing about the intimacy in these home recordings, so sensitive and creative. And I just love that magical moment when they finished their song and reaches out to turn off the cam…

And the asian theme is a total coincidence :)

Why the f***ck do I fall in love with a gymnast?

July 24, 2009

The new acne underwear campaign featuring gymnasts made me think of my beloved Alexei Nemov. I can still remember the first time I saw him during OL in Atlanta in 1996. Love at first sight. Fine muscles built of borsch and slightly sad Russian eyes. I would still put on my fur hat and play the balalaika while watching him do something fancy in the parallel bars any day.

I wish I was born in 1860’s

Cause then I would have been young in the 1880’s, now that was some amazing years! We are talking the birth of, electricity, the phone, cars and cocaine. The golden years for my heroes Louis Pasteur, Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Doyle.
It was the age were queens got whole countries as birthday presents and you could use immigrants to lay down miles of railroad tracks without feeling bad about it. And not to forget the fashion… uuh, could it get any better!
Well what I’m trying to communicate is that, I just really really love the victorian era… I use that style as much as I can get away with in designs at the moment.
And uhhm… I went ga-ga and made this from scratch, just because I always wanted a victorian corset

Knitting when it goes pro

July 21, 2009

Sandra Barklund is an amazing knitwear designer, she knits sculptures that you can actually wear… what’s not to love about that? Go have a look at her site, cause her collections are really versatile and beautiful… and to me it’s a bit more art than fashion…

Things I can put on my feet I heart!!!

polaroid bootsIt’s hard to explain how much I just love when my friends shop vintage on the internet and get their things too small for them and just the right size for me… this time it meant NEW BOOTS… I’m in love, I’m going to stomp these babies around as much as possible… and there’s even little horses and horseshoes on the lining when you look inside them…
