WTF fashion brand names

May 30, 2010

We stayed with the magnificent Lance at the end of our trip, who has the craziest collection of rock n’ roll vintage t-shirt. He took us to a few of his favourite vintage shops, where I bought this shirt with the weird name of Country Suburbans that inspired me to go through my closet in the search of more WTF’ers…

Like people living even further away than in the country side? And the shirt is super space age… ooookay! Just let them brainstorm until the doctor arrives.

When you feel the urge to call your brand so many superlatives, it is very likely to be none of the above.
A very clever way to get away with any kind of design. Come on people, it’s just cartoon fashion!

Apparently a TV station with a daily broadcast of Lassie movies and Thomas The Train extended their brand with a fashion line.

Cool. You are what you wear.

We all thought that scooter was only a German hard dance band or something to take you from A to B faster than a bicycle but slower than a car. Think again dear fashion lovers.

Back in CPH with a bunch of new friendships, a ton of inspiration and a liver about to shut down. NYC rocked harder than hard, and we have so many great things to post for you in the near future…

Drinks, dinosaurs and delight…

May 18, 2010

The reason we haven’t updated is that NYC has a lot of very strong and cheap drinks, which leaves us in a constant bliss of partying and hangovers.

But there is the delicious miracle of Whole Foods, they are food heaven, all you could ever dream of packed in little boxes ready to eat… this means a lot of picnic time. Nothing beats breakfast in the sun with organic yoghurt and fresh fruits.

Walks in Chelsea with pretty pretty roses in front of the houses.

At a track in Central park we discovered that Line speaks fluent squirrel, it stopped up and came over as soon as she spoke to it. We still don’t know wether she was polite or not. But from now on she will be the squirrel whisperer.

And not to forget we went to se the dinosaurs at the museum of natural history… now we want a pet dino!!

Speaking of dinosaurs, we also went to a pretty damn cool Iggy Pop show, the picture is bad and you might not recognize him cause the photo was taken before he took his shirt off.

First night out in NYC

May 12, 2010

We’ve been here less than 24 hours, but we already learned a lot here in New York:

1) When a bar is called Dark Room, it’s pretty damn dark inside.

2) If you mention tequila to a Mexican, they won’t shut up till you actually drink one.

3) Here they serve tequila shots in the size of pints.

4) In Chinatown they basically only speak chinese.

5) It’s really hard to find a bad cup of coffee here.

6) Line is going old school and will need to get her holiday photos developed, party like it’s 1994!

7) Oh! and it rains a lot here, so much for walking around… Thank God for yellow cabs!

The Geeks are Going Away…

May 11, 2010

But only to visit New York City for a few weeks. And we will keep posting, and we might even make a travel diary with photos of our do’s, don’ts and shouldn’t have dones (sorry geek-moms, please don’t check the blog the next two weeks).

And these are just my toiletries!

May 10, 2010

Swiss Air. 20 kg of luggage. But we are going to New York! Sigh….. One day when the Geeks will rule the world, there will be no luggage limit for everyone with tits.

Graphite Hairdos

May 5, 2010

Chinese Hong Chun Zhang paints and draws amazing long shiny hair, it’s not  that it’s hair that she’s illustrating, it’s more how interesting she can make it look. The shine and texture is so vivid and beautiful that it makes me want to reach out and touch it to feel if it’s as soft as it looks.

She also shows us the nasty side of hair, all the places where it just don’t belong, but even that she makes to look attractive.

3, 2, 1 New York…

May 3, 2010

Lego this, Lego that. I know. Everybody wants to be Michel Gondry making the next big thing after the White Stripes Lego video, which can’t be beat, so stop it already. But I must admit that I like these clever takes on classic New York features by Christoph Niemann – in particular because of the fact that the Geeks will be in New York in one week from now…. yessir!
