Useless talent. Now in a music video.

May 12, 2011

I’m guilty of getting men to bed using my Etch a Sketch skills. There, I said it. It somehow just works better than the “wanna see my stamp collection?” move. Tried and tested.

I just finished this video as a part of  my music project. It took a weekend shooting everything and I did it together with the great Jonas Krüger who directed, filmed and edited. Thank you mother for providing me with the Etch a Sketch gene! She has the skill too…

Nocturnal ways

July 21, 2010

I’m starting to think I should have been living in a whole different time zone, somewhere across the globe. I just can’t get myself to go to bed until 6 am, which means long lonely nights. And then again I just realized that lately I’ve spend my long nights with doing really weird stuff, such as:

– Watching all the episodes of a lot of TV shows: Mad Men, House, Grey’s anatomy, Medium, The Mentalist, The Prisoner, Califonication, CSI, CSI NY…etc. I can’t even begin to count how many hours I’ve spend on that.

– I’ve browsed around so many blogs, reading every word and laughed myself silly at 4 in the morning all alone.

– I’ve sewn a whole victorian gown, just for the fun of it.

– I’ve baked cakes at 3 am, because I got the idea for a new recipe.

– I’ve listened to wast amounts of audiobooks while I was drawing.

– I’ve read 12 sci-fi and fantasy books

– I’ve knitted 5 pairs of socks and a scarf

– I’ve tried on all my gowns, because they make me feel pretty.

And not once did the idea of doing the dishes, washing the floor or sorting out my wardrobe, pop into my nocturnal mind…!

Fashion with eggs-factor

April 3, 2010

I made these eggs together with my mother and grandmother when visiting them for Easter last year. You just place leaves and flowers on an egg, cover the egg in onion shells, wrap it up tightly in tin foil and boil it for a few hours. Wonder if the Marni designers did a session like that as well?? The colour scheme and design of their SS/10 collection is somehow very similar to the look of this kind of eggs!

I wish I was born in 1860’s

July 23, 2009
Cause then I would have been young in the 1880’s, now that was some amazing years! We are talking the birth of, electricity, the phone, cars and cocaine. The golden years for my heroes Louis Pasteur, Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Doyle.
It was the age were queens got whole countries as birthday presents and you could use immigrants to lay down miles of railroad tracks without feeling bad about it. And not to forget the fashion… uuh, could it get any better!
Well what I’m trying to communicate is that, I just really really love the victorian era… I use that style as much as I can get away with in designs at the moment.
And uhhm… I went ga-ga and made this from scratch, just because I always wanted a victorian corset

It’s not like I’m all about cake…

April 7, 2009

It’s just that I tend to over do stuff, and yet friends always ask me to create things for them, wonder why. This time it was a birthday cake for 30 people… I could have made a classic chocolate mud cake with icing… but no. I chose to spend around 7 hours baking, mixing fillings and braiding coloured sugar-fondant… the braiding alone took me at least one episode of “californiacation” and two of “CSI”… but it was a success and it tasted like little fair lemon angels tiptoed across your tongue.
