Read my lips

November 8, 2010

It’s quiz time! At the much talked about “who-is-this-Mr-Brainwash-is-it-Banksy-or-Shepard-Faiery-or-a-mix-of-both” exhibition in meatpacking NYC back in May, I shot these set of famous lips. Write the name of the owners in the comments section, if you can tell who it is. First prize: a postcard with lipstick kisses from the geeks…

1. He sings and has a shit load of it-kids.

2. She likes rock stars and wellies.

3. He didn’t make it to 28.

In the field of notes

October 12, 2010

Whether scribbling down ideas, writing grocery lists or keeping track of which men in my life NOT to call, the tiny Field Notes notebook is my favorite. I got it at the restaurant/café/shop The Smile in NYC (a must, must, must go – the staff is just as hot as the coffee – you don’t need to buy any cookies or cakes – drooling guarantee just by looking at the barista….) and now I just discovered that it comes in seasonal design. You can even subscribe to the notebooks to automatically receive the new collection when a new season sets in. Lovely idea.

Autumn.

Winter.

Spring.

Summer.

Your name here

October 4, 2010

I have never won any trophies… but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the confidence boost of seeing my name written on a shiny brass plate indicating that I was the first to cross the finish line in a go-cart, on a bike or in a swimsuit. I spotted these wicked backdated confidence trophies at Partners & Spade NYC.

In New York? No plans for the day?

August 31, 2010

At the brilliant agency Partners & Spade that doubles as one of the coolest stores I have ever seen, you can rent a pogo stick by the hour or the day. Stop being so brilliant, ok?

Crystallised

August 14, 2010

I really like the idea of a tiny crystal resting on your neck and a larger crystal resting on your chest. Got it at In God We Trust – the one in Lafayette Street, NYC.

The book of truth

June 12, 2010

Being a lover of words and especially words being cleverly put together, I was very excited when I saw this book in Partners & Spade – the brilliant agency-in-the-weekdays-and-open-for-everyone-to-stop-by-for-some-inspiration-and-buy-cool-crap-in-the-weekends in Bond St., Manhattan. The book also reminded me of my dear friend Peter of Blog you motherblogger who is one of the most pessimistic (and one of my favourite) persons i Copenhagen. I might actually have to give him this book…

Thanks to the magnificent Derrick for showing us Partners & Spade and 10.000 other hidden gems in New York. And being our personal paparazzi for the day :)

A pricetag that says what you are thinking

Blog sweet blog

Back in CPH with a bunch of new friendships, a ton of inspiration and a liver about to shut down. NYC rocked harder than hard, and we have so many great things to post for you in the near future…

Drinks, dinosaurs and delight…

May 18, 2010

The reason we haven’t updated is that NYC has a lot of very strong and cheap drinks, which leaves us in a constant bliss of partying and hangovers.

But there is the delicious miracle of Whole Foods, they are food heaven, all you could ever dream of packed in little boxes ready to eat… this means a lot of picnic time. Nothing beats breakfast in the sun with organic yoghurt and fresh fruits.

Walks in Chelsea with pretty pretty roses in front of the houses.

At a track in Central park we discovered that Line speaks fluent squirrel, it stopped up and came over as soon as she spoke to it. We still don’t know wether she was polite or not. But from now on she will be the squirrel whisperer.

And not to forget we went to se the dinosaurs at the museum of natural history… now we want a pet dino!!

Speaking of dinosaurs, we also went to a pretty damn cool Iggy Pop show, the picture is bad and you might not recognize him cause the photo was taken before he took his shirt off.

First night out in NYC

May 12, 2010

We’ve been here less than 24 hours, but we already learned a lot here in New York:

1) When a bar is called Dark Room, it’s pretty damn dark inside.

2) If you mention tequila to a Mexican, they won’t shut up till you actually drink one.

3) Here they serve tequila shots in the size of pints.

4) In Chinatown they basically only speak chinese.

5) It’s really hard to find a bad cup of coffee here.

6) Line is going old school and will need to get her holiday photos developed, party like it’s 1994!

7) Oh! and it rains a lot here, so much for walking around… Thank God for yellow cabs!
